"An Animated Project"
One my very first large animated projects which was created as my 2nd year assignment. The task was to create an animated film based on anything I would like, with the condition it had interactive elements incorporated into the narrative, allowing me to create a creative product in the end.
Before I began the project, an idea I had was to have a character dynamic of a rich but kind girl named Aurora with a poor but idealistic boy named Newton.
The narrative revolved around two long-forgotten races from beyond the stars, a story about the privilaged Visionaries above ground, and the peasants called the Dwellers. Aurora was a Visionary and Newton was a Dweller.

The Visionaries would appear birdlike to represent their status as creatures who live high among the stars, as they lived in a city in the sky.
The Dwellers would appear catlike, to represent their lower and more grounded status as farm-folk.

With the narrative settled, i decided to begin working on the conceptual stage. One factor which was required for the project was to incorporate social media, so I drew various concept art to build upon the lore, which i would post on Instagram under the guise of an archeologist on the hunt for this forgotten race. Below an artsyle was formed, which was heavily inspired by the looks of ancient tablets and maps.

A zine was also created to compile all the artwork I have made into one book, containing lore information on lore such as Visionary culture, Dweller technology and other such tidbits to build a complex and exciting world.
Drawn assets were created as it was all going to compiled in an Adobe Indesign document to be printed.

One thing to quickly realize about the animated film is that both Dweller and Visionary have been animated with a different artsyle. The entire animation was created to have a VHS effect to keep the idea of something long forgotten, and the previous ancient artstyle has been kept for the animation.
